Long Description

PLLuM (Polish Large Language Model) is a freely accessible AI model developed by the Polish government to support digital transformation, particularly in public services. Created as part of a government-backed initiative, PLLuM is designed to provide AI capabilities tailored to the Polish language and national needs. The model is available for interaction on the Ministry of Digital Affairs website, and its open-source framework allows developers and businesses to download and integrate it into their own applications.

PLLuM was developed following a 2023 research project aimed at building a Polish-speaking AI assistant. With 14.5 million zloty (€3.5 million) already invested and an additional 19 million zloty allocated, the model is set to be integrated into key public administration systems. It will function as a virtual assistant in Poland’s mObywatel digital public services platform, support civil servants by automating document processing, content analysis, and citizen inquiries, and assist in education by providing AI-driven tools for teachers. The model is also expected to strengthen Poland’s IT sector by enhancing innovation and competitiveness in AI-driven products and services.

By leveraging large-scale language processing, PLLuM joins the ranks of global AI models like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grok, but with a strong focus on Polish language applications. The initiative reflects Poland’s commitment to AI development, digital sovereignty, and improving public services through advanced technology.
